The Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is a nonauditioned group of singers who lead in worship each Sunday morning in our Traditional Service. Each week this talented, dedicated ensemble glorifies God and proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music. The Choir annually presents a Christmas Concert, “Christmas at First Baptist,” which has become a signature event offered to the community benefiting local charities. The choir also offers a variety of special worship and themed program events throughout the year. This group is led by Minister of Music Ryan Heritage and rehearses at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the Choir Suite, Daniel Building, 3rd Floor.
The First Baptist Church Orchestra is an auditioned instrumental ensemble open to high school age and adults. The orchestra performs regularly in worship, occasionally accompanies the Sanctuary Choir and presents a variety of music for special events. This group is led by Ryan Heritage and rehearses at 6 p.m. Wednesdays in the Sanctuary.
Adult Praise Band
The Adult Praise Band leads worship in our contemporary worship service. The offering of songs includes modern versions of familiar hymns and contemporary worship songs. Multi-generational, congregational participation is greatly encouraged – songs and the vocal keys are chosen with that intent. The music and songs are chosen for the purpose of bringing honor and glory to God. This band is led by Dan Gaudinier and rehearses at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Missions Activities Center Gym.
This adult handbell ensemble is a most talented group of musicians and is open to adults who can read music and have significant handbell ringing experience. This group performs for special events and in worship services throughout the year. This group is led by Ryan Heritage and rehearses Mondays, 5:30 p.m. in the Daniel Building, Room 201.

Additionally, we put music to good use in the summer by going on a mission excursion, filled with singing, mission work, and more. This group meets at 4:30 p.m. Sundays in the Choir Suite, Daniel Building, 3rd Floor.
Youth Praise Bands
The Rise Youth Worship Team, regularly leads worship for our students on Sunday evenings at Rise Youth Worship which is held from 5:45 – 7:30 p.m. in the Missions Activity Center. Preschool & Children’s Music Ministry
Preschool and Children’s Choirs – Growing in Grace
Preschool and Children’s Choirs meet on Wednesday evenings throughout the academic year from 6-7 pm. Our overriding goal is that choir will be a time and a place where boys and girls can experience God through scripturally based music. Singing is our main activity, but other musical activities include playing instruments, moving to music, creating music, reading music, developing listening skills and learning how to share our music with others. At the end of each class we have a devotion that helps the children tie what they have learned musically to the biblical principles in the music.
Choir Rehearsal Schedules:
Kindergarten Room D 1st floor of the Children’s Building
1st grade Room B 1st floor of the Children’s Building

Senior Adult Choir
First Family Singers
The primary purpose of this non-auditioned, committed ensemble of senior adult singers is to minister to our community by singing at area nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities and retirement centers approximately three times a month. Occasionally, the group will sing during worship or special musical events. This group is led by Paul Moller and meets at 10 am Thursdays in the Choir Suite in the Daniel Building, 3rd floor.
Share Your Musical Gift
If you have a heart for leading worship through music and you have been gifted with instrumental and/or vocal skill, we want to offer you the opportunity to share your gifts. Please contact Worship Leader Dan Gaudinier for an individual audition.
There is a continuing need for volunteers not particularly musical, but blessed with a servant’s heart, to serve in a variety of roles. First Baptist wants to encourage everyone to find a place of service.
