FBC SENIOR ADULTS NEWS

Our Senior Adult Ministry Advisory Council is actively planning events and ministry efforts. The Council members are Bill and Loretta Davis (co-chairs), Nancy Fezler, Hugh Hollar, Tanya Langley, Frank McPhail, and Annette Taylor. I’ve offered to be the Senior Adult “Monitor,” supporting the good work of these folks and others who are taking on leadership.

The Senior Adult Council has several events already planned for the rest of 2024, with a couple more in the works.

– Lunch & Learn – Monday, September 30
– Senior Adult Lunch – Sunday, October 13
– Trip to Johnson-Welter Heritage Farm – Saturday, November 2
– Lunch & Learn – Monday, November 4
– Trip to Fantasy of Lights at Callaway Gardens – December 5-6
– Senior Adult Lunch – Sunday, December 15

Mark your calendars; we’re providing more information as each event approaches. Our Missions Development Council continues to guide our church’s mission strategies. This Council’s members are Hugh Hollar (chair), Bobby Anderson, Anita Aguirre, William Bowman, Allen Hardin, Lisa Jones, Christopher Messer, and Ann Taylor, Matt Hester and I are helping provide guidance from the ministerial staff.
The Missions Development Council encourages us all to do two things:

– Consider joining one of our church’s areas of community service. You’ll find a list and contact information elsewhere in this newsletter.

– Increase your giving through the Green Envelope. The Green Envelope is FBCA’s method of funding the Missions Development Fund, which is used to support all missional endeavors through our church. Next year’s mission budget will be determined by what we give this year, so now is a great time to plan and give your generous support for our church’s mission efforts. Green Envelopes are provided in your offering packet (if you give by check) and in the pew racks, and online payments offer the Green Envelope option.

I’m impressed by the quality and commitment of the volunteer leadership our church has in the areas of both senior adult ministry and missions. Let’s thank God for them and pray that God will guide them and honor and magnify their efforts for his glory.

Philip Hedgecoth
