“From Nothing to Everything”
We are living in strange days. For far too many people, there is not a day where we won’t experience a moment of anxiety and panic. At some level, we all feel like everything we know and love has been taken away from us. People are stuck at home, school schedules are disrupted, and that’s just the beginning of the list! The normal rhythm of our lives has been completely upended and we feel it! It is almost like there is nothing in our lives that is as it should be. These are strange days, indeed, and the problem is that most of us are not quite sure what to do about it.
What if we acknowledged the anxiety in our lives and rather than run away from it, we were willing to see it as an opportunity to reorient and reorganize our lives? Over the course of the next four weeks, we are going to look at how God can take nothing and turn it into something! Over and over again, Jesus takes anxiety and turns it into calm. He takes weeping and he turns it into joy. He takes death and he turns it into life! All throughout the stories of our faith, God takes moments where everything seems lost and he uses those moments to bring life, love, and joy into the world.
