The Mother’s Day Out program of the First Baptist Church of Augusta began in 1979. It is organized for children, ages birth – 3 years of age. It is designed to promote the mental, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of children. The program aims to enrich the life of each child so that he/she may experience the best and happiest of preschool years.

The purpose of the Mother’s Day Out program is to offer a Christian setting that provides a loving, caring and safe environment for young preschoolers. The goals are to care for their physical needs, to provide age appropriate teacher directed activities and free play indoors and outside. Stories and music are incorporated into each age group, while the 2- and 3-year-olds also have a thematic art project and group time each day. Learning to share and take turns, feeling comfortable without their parents and being involved in activities suited for their age group are goals of the program. It is organized for children, ages birth – 3 years of age and meets daily from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
