Connect to Serve Day

Registration Opens April 1st

First Baptist Church of Augusta is known for its missional spirit and generosity. We want to celebrate that spirit and live into our mission, “To connect people with Jesus Christ and our faith community,” on this special day.

We will begin the day at 8 am in the fellowship hall with breakfast and prayer. Each team will then gather for instructions and directions to their work sites. Some projects will last 1- or 2-hours others will last all day. Some projects will be on campus and many projects will be off campus. Childcare for infants through 4 years, will be provided at the church from 8:30 am- 12:00 pm. (Please bring a snack for your children).

We will blanket our community with love and service, offering our hands and feet to be used to help our neighbors. Below you will find a list of our projects. We will open our registration on April 1. You will be able to register through our app or website. There will be limited in person signups on Sunday mornings April 14 and 21.

In Community

1. Druid Park Medical Clinic- 5-6 volunteers to help with clerical work and clean up of offices. 9:00 am
2. Golden Harvest Master’s Table- 6 Volunteers 10:30-2:30
3. Project Refresh Shower Station at Master’s Table- 8 Volunteers 8:30-set up 9:00am-12:00 pm
4. Assisted Living Visitation and Sing- 8-10 volunteers per group 9:00 am- 3:00pm (we are scheduled at 3-4 different facilities throughout the morning and afternoon)
5. Family Promise- 4-5 Volunteers to help put up a new basketball goal and to do some light yard work 9:00 am-12:00 pm
6. Men on Mission- 4-5  Volunteers at each location. Building Ramps, Light Handy Man help at a Homebound Member’s Home, Building shelving for new storage shed. 9:00-2:00 pm (some jobs will finish sooner than others)
7. Copeland Elementary School- 5-6 Volunteers- Landscaping 9:00 am- 12:00 pm

On Campus (Good projects for families with preschoolers or young elementary students)

1. Packing Project Refresh Toiletry Bags- 10-15 Volunteers 9:00 am
2. Packing Bean Soup Bags- 6-8 Volunteers 9:00 am
3. Making gifts and cards for Homebound Members – 8-10 volunteers 9:00 am
