During the month of November, many of us will gather around tables with family members to give thanks to God for his provision and faithfulness. An important missional focus this month for our church is to give others the same blessing of a Thanksgiving meal. First Baptist Church’s benevolence ministry in partnership with The Bible Deliverance Temple is asking for your help in providing Thanksgiving meals for 100 families in the Harrisburg community in our city. We need 100 frozen turkeys donated to our church beginning November 2 through November 15. Individuals seeking to contribute can bring turkeys to the church Welcome Center Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please wear a mask and ring the doorbell and someone will assist you. In addition, you may also donate a turkey at our Sunday morning worship services on November 8th and November 15th at designated areas.
We also need 200 cans each of corn, green beans, yams, fruit, cranberry sauce to go along with the turkeys. You can bring canned goods to the Welcome Center starting now through November 13 on Monday through Friday 9:30 am to 12:30 pm (again please wear a mask and ring the doorbell). You can also make donations on Sunday, November 8th and November 15th in any of the grocery carts.
If you prefer to make a monetary donation for the Thanksgiving Meals here are 3 options:
- Bring check or cash to Welcome Center earmarked for Thanksgiving meals during the week
- Give online by designating your donations for “Thanksgiving meals”
- Mail checks to Lavinia Pollaty at 3500 Walton Way 30909 designated to “Thanksgiving meals”
Thank you for your continued support of missions during a time when so many need reminders of God’s love and faithfulness through a Thanksgiving meal.
