Introducing Jeff Miller, New Church Administrator

Jeff comes to us from Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church (SPdL) in Atlanta where he served as Church Administrator for the past eight and half years.  He was a member at Second-Ponce for 25 years prior to joining the staff and served faithfully during that time.

You might ask how one becomes a church administrator?  A few months prior to the former Church Administrator’s decision to retire from Second-Ponce, he approached Jeff and asked if he had ever considered working as a church administrator.  Jeff responded that he had not but was curious.  As he learned more about the position and responsibilities, Jeff realized how his previous experience aligned with this type of work.

Jeff has an MBA from Georgia State and had worked in corporate finance as well as real estate before settling on a career in church business administration.  The experience he gained from his previous careers has proven invaluable in his current position.  No one wants to think of the church as a business, and it’s not in the traditional sense, but there are certain aspects that need to be handled as a business.

Jeff and his wife, Margie, met at Second-Ponce and have been married for 10 years.  They moved to Evans in June to be nearer Margie’s work at Augusta University. They have a daughter, Eliza, who recently married Donald. The newlyweds currently live in the D.C. area but will be moving to Mexico in June for Donald’s first assignment with the State Department.  Their son, Jack, is a freshman at the University of Georgia and is thoroughly enjoying his time there.  He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. They also have a Havanese named Georgia who brings them lots of joy.
