Dear Church,

As most of you know, I am huge fan of the University of Georgia. As a proud alum, I cheer for the Dawgs every Saturday in the fall, usually from my couch or back patio. We usually invite friends over to come and watch the game with us. I run point on the grill and everyone else brings a side dish of their choice. For three or four hours, we get to spend time with our friends and people we care about the most in our world. Obviously, UGA is going to win the game. But as it turns out, watching the game isn’t nearly as important as spending time with the people in our lives.

This Sunday afternoon from 5:30-7:30 we are going to host a church wide tailgate party! While you can learn more about it in this edition of the digital Interpreter, there are a few things I want to remind you about in my letter,

  • There are prizes for the best tailgate, so show up and show out for your team!
  • The Church is providing hotdogs and hamburgers. You bring the sides.
  • We are having this party rain or shine. There is a plan to move indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
  • Jump houses, games, and more will be available for kids and their families.

I hope that you will make plans now to join us on Sunday afternoon!

Also, this Sunday we continue our series (Re)Purpose and at the end of the sermon, we will take time out of worship to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. It is going to be an excellent day of worship and an amazing time to invite a friend to come and join you!

As always, I am proud to be your pastor. If there is anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Grace and Peace,
