Dear Church,

I can’t believe that it is already September. While we are normally settling into our Fall routine, this year has proven to be anything but normal. So I wanted to take this edition of the Interpreter to remind you of the new plans for worship that will begin next Sunday, September 13th. You can see all the details below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the church office or reach out to Cyndi Busby for clarity on any given issue.

If you were in worship on Sunday, you already heard the good news, but for those of you who were not in the room, I want to take a moment and celebrate our church. One month ago, we asked you to step up and provide school supplies for our friends at Copeland Elementary School. Well, not only did you step up, you went far above and beyond any expectations we had for this supply drive. We raised over 4,800 for Copeland, which allowed us to provide school supplies for over 150 children. But we did not stop at that point. With the surplus, we purchased 600 water bottles for every student and faculty member at Copeland, and now that we know school will begin next Tuesday, we are prepared to purchase face shields for every student and teacher at Copeland. None of this would be possible without your financial generosity!

During this period where so many people are approaching the world with a theology of scarcity, my friends, we have chosen to believe that God wants us to take care of our neighbors! I am so proud to be the pastor of this church during this time.

Grace and Peace,

Will
