Friends,

I know that November is traditionally the month where we talk about all the things we are thankful for in our lives, but I just can’t wait that long! In this edition of the digital Interpreter, I want to share with you a couple of wonderful things that are happening in our church right now! First, many of you know that we have partnered with Project Refresh to help them purchase mobile shower units for homeless men and women in our city. Two weeks ago, we heard from Tracy Showman, who is not only a church member but also a founding part of Project Refresh in Augusta. She told us all about the ministry and talked about the various ways our church could help. Over the past two weeks, I am thrilled to tell you that we have raised almost $27,000 for this incredible organization! Seriously, you all never cease to amaze me with your generosity. What makes me even happier is knowing that we raised that money, not for our glory, but so that others might see our good deeds and give glory to our Father in Heaven.

The second thing I have to tell you about is a dinner we hosted on Sunday evening. We called it “Connection” and it was a meal and conversation specifically designed for guests and new friends of our church who wanted to know more about taking their next step. My friends, twenty people showed up for the dinner! We had a great meal from Chef Ray and then we spent about 45 minutes talking about the vision and values of the First Baptist Church of Augusta. At the conclusion of the dinner, I gave folks an opportunity to join our church and eleven people, who you will see Sunday, made the decision to officially become a part of FBC! It was an absolutely incredible evening.

There is so much to celebrate right now at our church! I continue to be amazed that I am able to pastor such an incredible group of Jesus followers. I hope you will make plans to be with us in worship this Sunday as we continue our series from the Sermon on the Mount.

Grace and Peace,

Will
