Have I told you lately how much I love being your pastor? Well, I do. There is not a day that goes by where I don’t thank God for the fact that I am the pastor of such an amazing group of people. I love the fact that on a daily basis, I speak to people of completely different generations, races, economic backgrounds, and even political opinions. There is something wonderful about being part such a diverse group of people. But more than anything else, I love being the pastor of this church because we understand the one thing that unites us above anything else, and that is Jesus Christ. Friends, as long as we keep our focus on Him, we will continue to thrive and be a force for good throughout Augusta and around the world.
During these trying times, I love that our church staff has worked hard to create a variety of opportunities for you to stay connected to your church and to Jesus. I want to draw your attention to two things that I am very much looking forward to over the coming weeks. First, this Sunday at 5:00, Les Reagan and Wayne Lord will be presenting an evening of beautiful music that consists of all our favorite hymns on two pianos. This event will be ONLINE ONLY, and you can tune in through our Facebook page or on our website, DiscoverFBC.org. It is going to be an excellent evening and I hope you will plan on tuning in.
The other event I want to draw your attention to is our “Trek or Treat”, which is happening on October 30th from 6:00-9:00 right here at the First Baptist Church. We have plenty of candy and fun events set up for our children. All we are waiting for is for you to show up and have a great time! You can learn more about the event in this edition of the digital interpreter.
I hope this letter finds each of you doing well. Don’t forget that this Sunday, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper in all four of our services (online and in person), so if you are worshipping at home make sure to have your bread and cup ready! I can’t wait to see you then.
Grace and Peace,
