Each week over the past month, attendance in worship has grown at our contemporary and traditional services. We are quickly approaching a moment where we will max out our current seating capacity in the MAC and Sanctuary. While this is a bit of a logistical problem, it is a wonderful thing to have happen in the life of our church! I will admit that over the past year, there were moments when I wondered if people would ever come back to in-person worship and the great news is that you have come back with excitement and energy. As we began to think about our increased weekly attendance and the how we anticipate that Easter will be our biggest attendance of the year, we knew that we were going to need to make some adjustments to our schedule. So, after careful thought about how we can ensure that Easter is a wonderful experience for everyone, we decided to add a worship service on Easter Sunday! I want to provide you with our plan for worship at the First Baptist Church on Easter Sunday, April 4th.
9:00 – Worship on the Lawn
10:00- Contemporary Worship in the MAC
11:00- Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary
I have a request that I would like to make for those of you who are reading my letter. Would you please consider attending our outdoor celebration at 9:00? I am asking you to consider celebrating Easter outdoors this year because we believe this is the best venue we have to accommodate the maximum number of people. If we run out of room at 10:00 or 11:00, we will provide overflow seating where people will be able to participate from the Banquet Hall. However, our great hope is that we will not have to turn anyone away who wants to worship in either the MAC or the Sanctuary. For those of you who are passionate about being in traditional or contemporary, by all means, plan to be present during those hours. But for those who are willing, I would love to see you outside on the lawn this Easter!
I hope you will be in worship this Sunday as we wrap up our series, “Restored: Broken to Beautiful”. As always, if there is anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Grace and Peace,
