This past year has proven to us that we can make the best out of a difficult situation. You have shown up and been THE CHURCH in so many different ways through the pandemic and now as we are seeing our way out of it you are still full steam ahead! Do you know how exciting and life giving that is for a Children’s Minister? Thank you. Thank you for your support of the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Augusta. Thank you for volunteering. Thank you for giving. Thank you for praying. Ministry has not stopped at FBC Augusta and I am so proud to tell my colleagues around the country that this church family has consistently and faithfully continued to reach out and impact the community and the world through this time of recalibration.
Our Children’s ministry team is the best of the best. I am blessed to work with each of them planning fun and faith centered events and spiritual formation for our children. We are dreaming and planning for next year while we continue to provide exciting and fun family events right now. Next time you are on campus and see one of our leaders, let him or her know that you appreciate all the love and learning experiences they provide for our children.
This coming Sunday March 21st we are partnering with the Student Ministry to provide a fun family event for preschoolers through 5th grade and their parents. We will have a Miniature Golf Course set up in our gym. It will be lit with LED lights and families will be able to play safely inside and socially distanced. We are assigning the 3:00 pm hour to preschool families and the 4:30 hour to K-5th grade families. But if you have children in both age groups you may pick one of the hours to attend that best fits your schedule. We will also have 2 food trucks on campus if you would like to purchase your dinner or a special treat for the evening. The First Baptist Kid’s Ministry will be giving prizes away for a designated Hole in One and other fun prizes throughout the evening. The entire event will happen rain or shine. We hope you can join us.
As we look towards the summer we are currently registering volunteers for VBS (June 7-11) and our 3rd-5th graders are planning on attending PassportKids Camp (July 17-20) at Camp Rock Eagle in Eatonton, GA. Our wonderful Children’s Advisory Council will be helping us to dream and create our 2021-2022 ministry that we are planning on beginning in August 2021 as long as our current situation continues to stabilize and get better.
As you can see we are still shining Jesus’ light into the lives our children. We are excited to see where God is leading our church and we look forward to answering God’s call into ministry to children in our community and around the world.
