Dear Church,

We are approaching an incredibly exciting week in the life of our church. Beginning on Monday, the First Baptist Church of Augusta will be filled with the sound of children running and playing on our campus. Yes, Vacation Bible School is upon us. If the excitement level in my own home is any indication, then next week is going to be bananas! I am getting ready to learn new music and dance moves, which we will proceed to use in our home every day for the next month! Seriously, this week always brings joy to my soul. As a parent and a pastor, I always leave this week prouder than ever of the work that is happening here at FBC!

Over the past few weeks, I have seen our children’s ministry team working hard, preparing for what will be an awesome week here at the First Baptist Church. While the majority of our spots have been filled, we still have a small number of registrations available for children who have completed first, second, and third grade. If you know of anyone who would like to bring their child, or if you have forgotten to register, all you need to do is call the church office and ask to speak with Melissa or Leah. You don’t want to miss out on this awesome week.

I do have one final request for you regarding VBS. We could still use more bottled water for our volunteers. If you happen to be going to the grocery store, would you please pick up an extra case of water to give to the church. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, especially by all the volunteers who are working in the sun all day!

Finally, I know that many of you were away last week on vacation. I miss seeing you when you are away, but it was great to see that our online participation was excellent! So even while you are on vacation, many of you took the time to stay connected with us. That is great news. With that being said, if you are in the city this week I hope you will make plans to be in worship as we will ordain two new Deacons, Judy Ramsey and Will Fletcher. It will be a great day at FBC and it will be even better if you are there to celebrate with us.

Have a great week and I will see you on Sunday,
