It is hard to believe that we are now in the rhythms of Summer! I know, I know, the season doesn’t officially kick off until June 21, but in the Dyer house we are definitely in the swing of summer. Pools are open, temperatures are hotter, and camps are scheduled almost every week for the next two months. Yes, these are busy days in our home. But they aren’t just busy weeks at the Dyer house, it is also an incredibly busy and exciting time at the First Baptist Church of Augusta. In this edition of the digital Interpreter, I want to make sure you are aware of all the wonderful things happening at our church over the next four weeks!
June 3rd– Our church is going to the Green Jackets game! First pitch is at 7:05 and we still have tickets available at the front desk. I love baseball in the summer. I love it even more when I am surrounded by friends. I hope you will make plans to join us.
June 6-10th– Vacation Bible School is back! This will be the first year since 2020 that we have been fully up and running with our summer VBS schedule and I know it is going to be an amazing time! If you haven’t signed up, there is still room for you and your kid. Reach out to Melissa Willis if you have any further questions.
June 12th -17th– Youth Camp will be taking place in Cooperhill, Tennessee. This year is going to be an incredible experience for our student ministry and there is still room if your student would like to attend!
June 19th– MARK YOUR CALENDARS! At 6:00pm on Sunday June, 19th, we will hold a Church in Conference with the purpose of voting on our new Minister to Students. Due to the fact that the candidate is currently working in a different church, we cannot release his name at this moment. But friends, our committee hit a home run! I cannot wait for you to meet our next Minister to Students and his wonderful family. You will learn more about this incredibly important moment for our church in upcoming editions of the Interpreter.
It really is an incredible time to be a part of the First Baptist Church of Augusta. I hope you will be present in worship during the summer, as we have some excellent things planned for Sunday mornings. As always, I am proud to be your pastor.
Grace and Peace,
