Dear Church,

Early this morning, I went to the Sanctuary to read, think, and pray. The room was dark but the sun was definitely on the rise. Slowly, the light began to shine against our stained glassed windows, with the Resurrected Christ standing at the top. Within a few minutes, brightness filled that sacred space, giving me hope for the day that lies ahead. It was a stunning reminder that, as John once said, “the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”. Friends, there seems to be quite a bit of darkness in our world these days. You have an opportunity to be a counter to that dark space. Let’s go out, wherever you find yourself today, and be the light of the world. Let’s be honest, we could all use a little more light in our lives.

One very practical way that you can help be the “light of the world” here at FBC Augusta is by volunteering to serve in our children’s ministry! For example, we are in the wonderful position of having too many kids in our nursery. We are now in a situation where we need to add an additional class on Sunday morning. However, in order to pull that off, we need more volunteers. Would you be willing to serve on Sunday morning and help nurture our children in the love of Jesus Christ? There are also still a few teachers needed in other areas of our children’s ministry! So, if you would like to know more about how you can help, please reach out to Melissa Willis, our Minister to Children, at mwillis@fbcaugusta.org.

I hope that you will be in worship on Sunday as we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together in all three of our settings, 9:00, 11:00, and online.

Grace and Peace,

Will
