Dear Church,

What a year we are wrapping up at FBC! Over the course of the past twelve months, we have seen some incredible things happen in the life of our church. There have been baptisms to celebrate, new babies brought into the life of our church, and scores of people who found this church to be just the sort of community where they feel like they can deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. As I write my final digital Interpreter of the year, my heart is filled with gratitude for the simple fact that I am the pastor of such a wonderful community of Christians.

There are so many exciting things that I want to share with you about 2022. Over the next few weeks you will learn about some of the new initiatives that we are launching to connect people to Jesus Christ and this community of faith. We are making a concerted effort to help our people deepen their relationship with Christ, while at the same time making intentional efforts to bring new people into the life of our church. I am beginning my fifth year as the pastor of our church and I am confident that 2022 will be our best year yet!

But on this final letter of the year, I want to do two things. First, I want to thank you for your generosity over the course of this year. We are in excellent financial shape as we come to the end of 2021, and it is in large part because you have been faithful in your giving to the church. We have been able to spread the gospel all throughout the CSRA, partner with local charities to make our city a better place for all her people, and also continue to give generously to global mission efforts. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Second, I would like to ask that you consider giving an additional year end gift to the First Baptist Church of Augusta. With the surplus revenue we receive at the end of the fiscal year, we are able to take a deep look at our community and give additional financial support to areas of our ministry that further our vision of connecting people to Jesus Christ and this community of faith. Each year since my arrival in 2017, we have carried forward significant surplus funds that have enabled us to engage in innovative and dynamic ministry to spread the gospel. I trust that 2021 will be our best year end yet!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year’s celebration and I look forward to seeing you all in worship on January 2nd at 9:00 or 11:00. As always, I am grateful to be your pastor.

Grace and Peace,
