As a minister I love connecting with my church family each week. I especially like the opportunities that religious celebrations, like Christmas, offer us to stop and really concentrate our whole selves towards God’s love and grace. I am thankful that as the minister who serves children and families, I have the opportunity to offer traditional and new ways for children to connect with their church family. We are so excited to offer a new Family Experience for this Christmas season.

Jingle Jam Lights is an interactive family Christmas party for the entire family on Friday December 10th at 6:30 pm in the MAC . There will be friendly family competitions, music, laughter, cookies, hot chocolate, and most importantly THE CHRISTMAS STORY, acted out in a new and lightastic way. We are asking that you reserve tickets, they are free, but we want to know how many families and friends to plan for the evening. This is for all the young and young at heart in our community. This is an excellent opportunity to invite your family, friends, or neighbors to church with you. Make sure to tell them all about the fun we are planning to have together. To reserve your tickets please contact Leah Galey at lgaley@fbcaugusta.org or 706-733-2236 ext.216 today.

Keep the Christmas goodness rolling by joining us Sunday evening Dec. 12 at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary for the Children’s Choir Christmas performance. Our preschool and children’s choirs have been getting ready for this wonderful time of worship all through the fall. The children and their amazing leaders have practiced and learned a wonderful program filled with fun and meaningful music. Our actors have put in extra practice each week to bring to you a night filled with fun and love for Jesus. We invite you to join us with your family for this Christmas event at FBC Augusta.

Our last fun connection for the Christmas season will be our Family Christmas Eve Service on December 24th at 3:30 pm in the Storey Chapel. We will be having our impromptu Christmas Nativity. When your children arrive they may pick a costume (shepherd, farm animals, angels, wise people, etc.) and as we sing carols and read the Christmas Story from Luke 2, they will be called up onto the platform to create the nativity scene. It is an exciting time with a little bit of chaos, just like when Jesus was born!!

I hope you take the time this Christmas season to connect with and welcome Jesus into your holiday celebrations. May God’s Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love surround you this Advent Season.

With Joy,

Melissa
