We’ve got a dream here at Fellowship—to become a simple, deep, missional community of gospel influence in Jonesboro and at Arkansas State University (ASU). We not only want to reach Jonesboro and ASU college adults, but we want to reach Region 8 and the nations through them. Admittedly our dream appears laughable on human terms. Yet, we are seeking to let God do something in and through us that can only be explained by His mighty hand being on us for the glory of His name, the good of this city, and the gladness of our hearts.
Simple.Deep.Missional.
Our focus is simple. Jesus is the hero of our church and the singular pursuit of Him marks everything we do. Our aim is to go deep. Rooted and grounded in the unchanging truth of God’s Word, we seek to connect all of life to the gospel. Our movement is missional. Pushing outward to be on mission with Jesus to our city, our region and our world, our goal is to authentically display and declare God’s rich grace in Christ.
History
Fellowship is a church plant from Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Ark in October 2002. After gathering for several years at Ridgefield Christian School, Fellowship moved to its current Woodsprings Rd location (just down from Big Lots) in January of 2007.
Associations and Networks
Fellowship is an independent non-denominational church. Although there is no “Fellowship Bible Church” denomination, we are nonetheless involved in two important networks for accountability, encouragement, idea networking and a sustained passion to plant gospel-centered missional churches.
Acts 29 Church-Planting Network
Fellowship is proud to be the first Acts 29 church in the state of Arkansas. The Acts 29 Network (founded by Mark Driscoll and Mars Hill Church in Seattle) exists to start churches that plant churches. God is using this network to influence and shape the church planting culture through both solid theology and contextualizing the gospel. The Acts 29 Network is committed to standing firm on two these commitments. We won’t water down our theology to reach more people and we won’t attack the culture in the name of Christianity. We are planting churches that are missionaries in their respective communities sent by Christ with the gospel (John 20:21). It is the desire of Acts 29 to plant 1,000 new churches in the next 10 years. For more about Acts 29, we encourage you to visit their web site.
Fellowship Associates Network
Fellowship Associates is dedicated to training today’s leaders to plant tomorrow’s churches of influence. In 1977, Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock was planted. Over time, Fellowship developed a passion to share their hope in Christ with the world by planting other like-minded churches. In its first 20 years, Fellowship planted 13 new churches. In 1999, Fellowship became even more intentional and launched Fellowship Associates to focus exclusively on developing church planters and launching church plants. As a result, there are churches all across the United States that have been birthed out of Fellowship Associates. These churches maintain an ongoing relationship whereby we can share ideas, hold each other accountable, and further the vision of reaching the world through gospel-centered churches. For more about Fellowship Associates, we encourage you to visit their web site.
